Sedex Membership

Sedex’s vision and purpose is to improve working conditions in global supply chains and help to enable businesses to better manage their social and environmental performance, which is something Hosokawa Micron Ltd is fully committed to supporting as we strive to become an even more responsible and sustainable company whilst also becoming more efficient.

Responsible sourcing, supply chain transparency and identifying and managing risk to people, the environment and businesses (with a focus on issues such as modern slavery, gender equality and working conditions) will help to drive social change globally, empower companies to align with the United Nations’ Guiding Principles and encourage ethical trading. An ambitious five-year strategy by Sedex, launched in 2020, aims to grow its positive influence by increasing the number of people it impacts from 33 million to 150 million by 2025.

Kathryn Hipkins, Technical Operations Director at Hosokawa Micron Ltd, explains… “As a Sedex member, we will be able to utilise Sedex’s practical online tools and access services and the expertise of its like-minded collaborative community to proactively gain knowledge and improve our responsible business practices via channels such as eLearning courses, webinars and reports. Ethical trading is something that is becoming more and more important to our current and potential customers – in particular our Contract Manufacturing customers – many of whom have asked us to join Sedex to help ease their supplier evaluation process. Of course, we are more than happy to support the initiative and are proud to play our part.”.

Importantly, the Sedex membership allows us to showcase the products and services Hosokawa Micron Ltd can provide and will help to make compliance simple and quicker for us and for our customers.

Instantly and effortlessly the platform will provide access to our latest audit information and questionnaires, giving confidence to buyers who are looking for processing equipment and contract manufacturing suppliers who can demonstrate they adhere to the latest national and international legislation, are willing to be transparent about their operations, take steps to mitigate and prevent financial risk, strive to be as efficient and productive as possible and follow ethical business practices.
