Toner printing originated in the 1930s and the toner itself has changed little in the intervening years, apart from minor refinements. Today, Chemically Produced Toners (CPT) are manufactured differently to the original carbon powders and are made from a polymer compounded with colourant. The cyan, yellow, magenta and black toner powders need to have a very consistent, ultra-fine particle size to enable sharp printing of copy and high-resolution images, requiring a high level of processing to achieve optimum printing results.
World-renowned Equipment for Toner Manufacture
Hosokawa Micron manufactures a wide range of energy-efficient, economical, compact and robust processing equipment and systems that are perfect for producing superfine powders to make toner. Our century-long experience of powder processing techniques and ground-breaking design technology mean we can offer the variety of versatile equipment required to manufacture superior-quality, contamination-free toner, including multiple fine and coarse grinding machines, jet mills, classifiers, high-speed mixers and vacuum dryers for ground and chemically produced toner.
The Nauta® Vacuum Dryer is ideal for reducing the moisture content of large batches of Chemically Produced Toner, while the Cyclomix efficiently mixes the dried CTP with flow-adding and charge control agents without the material heating up during processing.
Hosokawa Micron’s powder processing experts are adept at creating complex, multi-equipment process systems for wide-ranging manufacturing sectors and would be delighted to provide a quote for the ideal toner manufacturing equipment for your requirements.
