A first of its kind, industry-academic meeting, to discuss the commercial collaboration opportunities of functional nanomaterials has laid the foundations for future global developments.
Commencing 25 years ago, research into Nanotechnology is still very much in its infancy and open to a variety of different industry paths. By bringing together industry experts and leading academics, it is hoped a clearer route to the development of new functional materials can be mapped out. The event organised by Dr Tapas Sen, in collaboration with Hosokawa Micron Ltd and held at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston, attracted an international audience and diverse range of leading scientific speakers.
With all delegates and speakers keen to share knowledge and information and listen to the views of both academics and industrialists, the event has been voted a massive success with real steps forward made in realising the future opportunities and potential in the development of nanomaterials.

We would like to thank everyone in attendance at the Nano Symposium who helped make the event a huge success. We are delighted to announce that a 2018 Symposium is already being planned and that Hosokawa Micron will, once again be involved in the organisation of the event, alongside Dr Tapas Sen, from UCLan. We will also be working with Dr Sen on plans and support for a third Symposium in the future, which we know will deliver further unique insights from world-leading academics and industrial collaborators.
